safaritechnology Checklist for Building a Website

shopping cart website development in San Diego

Open communication and being organized while creating a website can greatly increase the efficiency for completing a website. We've created a checklist to help you get organized for the web development process:

1. Any notes you may have regarding the website.
2. A list of menus and submenus that you would like. This is list of every page you want on your website. This will be the framework for designing and developing your website.
3. Your logo. If you don't have one, safaritechnology' graphic designers can assist you with creating a new logo.
4. Company slogan and marketing phrases
5. Name of your domain (web address)
6. Any web quality images or graphics you may want to use on the website.
7. Links (web addresses) for any reference websites which you may like the features to be implemented into your website.
8. A list of your competitor's websites (when applicable)
9. Links to social media pages
10. Any blog posts that you would like on your website
11. Administrative credentials for your website domain and hosting
12. Administrative credentials for facebook, twitter, yelp or any other network(s) which you may want to encourage/show off customer ratings or likes. We use the networks APIs to place modules on your website (These are not always needed, depending on the features you would like on your website, but it is good to have these handy).
13. Any and all content/text created for pages. Your list of menu items is helpful here. This is usually the biggest reason for delay when attempting to complete a website in an efficient manner.
14. Biographies and headshots if you intend on posting information about management or board members.
15. Name and contact information for the person handling the project.
16. The best method to contact for the person handling the project – phone, email, text, skype, etc.
17. When accepting payments/donations on the website, please have your processing information available i.e. PayPal, authorize.net, etc. 18. When accepting payments/donations directly on your website (not redirected to say…PayPal or another secure server), you are required to have a security certificate (SSL) for your website. You can obtain your own or through your hosting company or safaritechnology can handle the process for you. Please keep in mind this process can take a few days and certain business owner verifications for validity.
19. For companies expecting a large amount of web traffic initially, it may be a good idea to consider dedicated hosting for your domain. It's best to plan this prior to developing the website. From a development stand point, it's less time consuming to build on the dedicated server rather than trying to migrate the website over from a shared hosting position.

safaritechnology' strategic timeline for the development of your website is a proven method for successfully creating quality websites in a reasonable amount of time. We understand that clients are generally in a "time-crunch" when they come to us. One of our primary goals is to expedite the web development process as efficiently as possible, with the highest level of quality standards.
